Possibility is beginning of writing a great novel, it can be a spark for a masterpiece. It is a new start, a new opportunity. We simply are faced with two choices where there is a possibility. One is to take a positive and constructive action and the other is to do nothing. But this is not all there is. It is also possible to consider both positive and negative aspects of our choices and to make an educated decision about our affairs. This is possible based on our attitude. Our attitude dictates our decision making, it can open or close new opportunities.
Opportunities and possibilities in life are determined by our preparation to receive them. We need to be clear in what we want, how we want to achieve our goals, what are our aspirations. As long as we are prepared and open minded to learn new things to work towards new possibilities and ultimately better life. We can then network and connect, as well as take calculated risks in what we want to achieve and how we want to go towards achieving it.
We need to consider various viewpoints, understand them, work towards them, analyse them and then try to make decision according to our beliefs and values. We need to keep an open mind that values and beliefs evolve and change is inevitable. Most people live for what they expect in life not what they actually want.
Cycle of life possibilities is based on trust. Trust in our self and our capabilities. By having this trust we can build a better future and take action in constructing a better outcome. Possibilities are endless, we just need to reflect and understand our abilities. By having a better awareness of our strengths and weaknesses, as well as accepting them we can move towards better outcomes and decision making. For example if you are good at engaging and socialising then this is something you can use to reach your goal. And at the other end of the spectrum if you are not good at internalising your understanding and being aware of your deep thoughts and emotions then perhaps knowing this will help you in planning towards your goal. Overall by accepting your weaknesses and strengths you can plan towards better outcome in life. This does not mean that we don’t need to work on our strengths or weaknesses, as well as practicing to improve them. It means that we need to get good at being aware of our capabilities, thoughts and emotions.
There are many aspects to optimising our life and our future. We need to keep healthy and to live a healthy life, this will let us feel better about ourselves and ultimately about others and life in general. We also need to take things slow and try to observe things before making decision. This helps us better evaluate our decisions and our stand points. These result in finding meaning in our thoughts, emotions and in what we do. When there is meaning in our life we can then be optimistic in our decision making and make time for things we like to do. There are times our thoughts, emotions and behaviour may not reflect what we want in life. By recognising these we can overcome them, we can get to know how to make better decisions and to live a better life.
There is importance in taking small steps, in ensuring that we familiarise ourselves with life ups and downs. We can then be sure that we get to be closer to life realities, to life possibilities, and further our understanding of life in general. For example if there is money issue to take small and necessary steps to overcome money worries. Another example is if we are suffering from loss of a loved one to try and take necessary steps to feel our emotions and to work through it.
In order to make better decisions there are also certain steps we need to take which are combinations of defining the decision steps, gathering information, and critical thinking. Also when making decisions we need to consider getting help from others if needed, as well as reviewing and reflecting on our decisions. This is also an important step because after making a decision we can learn by reflecting on the decision and weighing the outcome. This helps in making better decisions in the future.
Overall above points discussed help us consider alternatives and finding, and consider different options and course of actions. There are long term impacts in our decisions and therefore being able to see the bigger picture and how we are effected by our decisions in the long run is also important. We need to analyse the information, identify biases and assumptions in order to make rational judgement. We can write down pros and cons of the decisions we are making in our life. We can reflect on our decision by meditating or writing and not to rush in our decision making. We can be creative and make our decision a project we want to tackle. We can take up our decision making as an art – for example if we are angry and we must make a decision then we can paint our anger and find our how we feel. Another example is that if we are thoughtful and we want to make decision while have many ideas, by playing an instrument we can calm our mind.
There are many different ways to make better decisions and to have better life. We need to be methodical in our approach and plan every step we are taking. Also we need to pay attention to our feelings and the part they play in our decision making. We need to take account of past experiences and to strive towards making better decisions in the future. Thereafter we have possibility of making better decisions and better life.
