    Promise

    Promise to myself and family

    September 17, 2023June 11, 2024

    Morning is full of joy

I help my family with my bones

Time passes and I give what I can

I am true to our work and our plan

I move on but life challenges even more

I stand tall, and am responsible more,

Noon is when I need to rest

I have already put myself to test

Life is difficult and that is true

All is worth it, I want my children to know

Afternoon comes and life is shaken

Difficulties mount up and battles taken

I try to keep things in order and provide

But sometimes stress takes it all,

Evening is almost like a dream,

A dream like a freedom to come in between

Life is a blessing as our night falls,

    This is when we rest

    With gratitude in mind.

Above poem is about life challenges, responsibilities and gratitude. In here we can focus on these three themes. Life challenges can be addressed in many ways. These challenges need to be faced, they need to be understood and dealt with.

We all go through life facing challenges. We need to overcome many of these challenges, so we can get to live better. We may be faced with life challenges, personal challenges, social challenges, professional challenges, environmental challenges or financial challenges throughout our life. Each one of these challenges can be hard to face. Therefore we need to be aware that sometimes getting help is very important – We sometimes need help to face life challenges when this happens we need to keep an open mind and ask for help. Once faced with any of these challenges we need to try and overcome them by any means possible. This puts our life into prospective, and make us value our responsibilities. What is important in our life? What we need to do in our life that is worth fighting? These are the questions we may ask ourselves, and we can face and answer these questions as long as we have right intentionality and motivation in life.

    Gratitude

We have responsibilities in life that need to be met. We try our best to meet these responsibilities. Our responsibilities as adults covers range of duties. These are relationship responsibility, legal responsibility, environmental responsibility, social responsibility, professional responsibility and the list goes on. Therefore an adult will go through life trying to meet these responsibilities. Balancing these parts of life can be overwhelming and requires careful planning, prioritization, and even sometimes seeking help if needed. These are necessary to maintaining a stable and fulfilling adult life.

Life challenges and responsibilities are dealt with and faced in our everyday life. We need to have gratitude in our life in order to be able to face life challenges and responsibilities. Gratitude increases our wellbeing. Gratitude has psychological benefits, it is good for our physical health, it has social benefits, professional advantages, and it is good for our personal growth. We can cultivate gratitude by journaling, expressing thanks, mindfulness and meditation, acts of kindness and reflection. Therefore incorporating gratitude into our daily life can be transformative, leading to improved mental and physical health, stronger relationships and overall life satisfaction.

Challenges, responsibilities and gratitude are distinct in many ways when compared together. They also have a lot in common. They all help in promoting a healthy life style, personal growth and overall wellbeing.

Challenges by nature vary significantly from one person to another. Also they can happen at any unexpected moment and vary in intensity and duration. Challenges require problem solving skills and resilience to overcome. Challenges can be external or internal. Challenges can promote personal growth and development as they foster a sense of accomplishment and strength. Challenges can also lead to anxiety and stress if not dealt with appropriately.

Responsibilities are tasks and duties individuals are expected to fulfil. These tasks can be self imposed or from external sources. These tasks can be personal or professional and often they are ongoing. Responsibilities build discipline, reliability and time management. They can cause stress when they are numerous and conflicting. Fulfilling responsibilities often result in trust from others as well as overall stability.

Gratitude is a positive response in recognising and appreciating others kindness. This can be an intentional practice or spontaneous feeling. Gratitude focuses on positive aspects of life and can be expressed through thoughts, words and actions. Gratitude enhances wellbeing and foster positive relationship. Reduces stress and shifts the focus from challenges to positives, therefore promotes inner satisfaction.

There are many interconnections between challenges, responsibilities and gratitude. Between challenges and responsibilities for example there are many challenges that are seen as responsibilities and vice versa. There are responsibilities that are outside ones expertise and therefore are a challenge. In life to successfully manage responsibility one needs to overcome some challenges. This is possible by having right attitude and determination to overcome challenges. Responsibilities are dependant on life forces and for this reason we need to be prepared to face life challenges and to deliver our responsibility in the best way possible.

Facing challenges and trying to overcome them can improve our sense of gratitude for the support that we have received. Therefore practicing gratitude can make challenges more manageable and looking at the positive outcome and resources.

Fulfilling responsibilities can lead to feeling of gratitude for the opportunity to contribute and for the support received from others. Expressing gratitude can motivate individuals to better handle their responsibilities, recognising the value in their efforts.

Therefore challenges drive self growth and development. Responsibilities foster reliability, trust and personal stability. Gratitude enhances emotional wellbeing, strengthens relationships and offers a positive outlook in life. Together these elements mentioned form a balanced life. Throughout our life we are faced with many challenges, and responsibilities, how we deal with these are the determining factors in how we live our life. Therefore gratitude is very important because it shapes the way we look at the world around us, it also lets us be grounded. Gratitude creates a sense of acceptance and belief in higher order.

Challenges promote growth as long as we look at challenges as a form of opportunity for our self growth. Responsibilities promote structure as we can then know that certain actions taken by us results in certain consequences. Lastly gratitude promote emotional fulfilment and perspective because it lets us look at our life with a different lens and to appreciate our life.
