    Fear

    Fear and awareness

    This is in my bone

    It takes over within moments

    It impacts with uncertainty

    It takes over me without calling 

    It does not have any plan

    Its purpose is to take over my joy

    It moves to take all of me

    From within nothing else remains

    End up an endless worrier

    With vicious circle appearing

    It is all a dark thinking reality

    With nothing to create and build

    Its function is to keep us aware 

    To be attuned with new reality

    To know our next move

    To prepare and pre-empt future

    Fear is mysterious

    It has a key to unknown

    It is not pleasant

    Yet it is daring

    Need to be careful

    Not to fall a victim

    Not to surrounder

    To an unjustly reason

    Fear and its function

    Can drive us forward

    As and when in fear

    Push and make things clear

    Fear is a basic emotion. This is an emotion that everyone experiences. Sometimes fear can be mixed with other emotions. Fear is not pleasant but it can be necessary at times. For example it is good to be afraid in certain situations. Fear can be used as a drive to make changes, to prepare us for what is to happen in future. We need to be careful of fear because there is a valid or invalid reason for fear. Sometimes fear can be justified where we can make appropriate decision accordingly. Sometimes fear can be unjustified and result of faulty reasoning, therefore we need to be careful to recognise it and deal with it appropriately.

    Fear becomes meaningful depending on how we respond to it. At times fear can be positive because dealing with it resembles our life purpose and how we respond to our freedom. There is healthy fear which is protective us. Also there is dysregulated fear which underlies disorders such as phobias and PTSD. Therefore fear is informative rather than purely negative. Awareness of fear mechanism helps us have a better understanding and interpreting it. So by having better awareness, we can experience fear differently and perhaps in a more constructive way.
