Our emotions influence the way we think and behave. Our thoughts determine our decisions and our actions. But these are not enough on their own. If we go about our lives and only focus on one aspect of our being then we are not creating wiseness in life. What we are doing is creating particular cleverness, or intelligence in our life. Everyone can be clever, everyone can be intelligent. There are various types of intelligence and cleverness. We are all intelligent in one thing and not another. We can be clever in one thing and not another. Our cleverness is something given to us, our intelligence is something we can improve, but our wiseness is something we must intuitively feel and think inside out!
We are driven only by emotions and desires when facts don’t have a driving seat in our life. When this happens emotions can take us to unforeseen territories. We can even be simply impulsive, as we are impulsive, we are fighting some unresolved inner struggles that need to be resolved. In other hand when facts and logic have the driving seat we maybe inflexible. It is important to be thoughtful and process facts before making any decisions but we also need to take into consideration our feelings and emotions.
What we need to do is to take both our emotions and thoughts into consideration, then take a step back and consider actors in every situation and reflect on our decision. Then we can make decisions while considering our emotions and thoughts in a more clear and concise manner. This helps us to increase our wellbeing and to get better at decision making. Goal is not being correct, goal is to go with a flow of life, goal is to be flexible and positive, to take situations and relations into account and to see oneself both part of events and also separate from events. Only then we can be wise in our decisions and actions, our wiseness is not being all knowing, it is being and doing what we think is right while changing course as and when needed, it is being right and not right at the same time, it is being present doing what we can, while maintaining self balance and non self balance.
