    Decision making and our choices

    April 6, 2023October 7, 2025

Difficulty in decision making is about not knowing what to choose, it is about our inability to choose appropriately. It is important to know that our decisions are reflections of our beliefs and values, but sometimes choosing our values and knowing them is what makes things difficult. Therefore by improving our beliefs and values we can improve our decisions. As and when we have a difficult choice to make, we need to remember not to limit ourselves. We need to know that we also have option to reach out for new and exciting possibilities. We have option to renew ourselves.

With our every choice there are consequences, there are certain outcomes that will effect us in many ways. By knowing the consequences and outcomes, we are able to find out how to manage our decision making, and to make more appropriate decisions. Some decisions are tough and difficult, and it is difficult for us to foresee results. Therefore we should always value our judgment and also to consider our emotions and intuitions, these will help in better decision making. We can then value results and make our choices depending on our life goals. Our choice doesn’t have to be to excel in all areas but it needs to be a useful decision in order to be a good choice for us.

It is easy to mistake decision making with a moral dilemma when things are of relational nature with others. Therefore at times we should focus on making good decisions that benefits us all, instead of focusing on one aspect of a decision. Making a decision that will benefit us and others is beneficial in many ways, and as a result we are able to live our live in a state of balance and equilibrium. We should balance what is right generally with what is good for us and try to foresee end results. This needs to be done while being just in our actions, being just in thought and being just in our feeling.

Good decision making is reliant on a clear mind. A good decision making is reliant on a mind that helps us choose an option to benefit ourselves. A good decision may be morally good, may be good personally, or it may be good for others, and may be a mixture of all of them. Therefore we need to know that by making good decisions we learn to be at peace with ourselves and our environment. There are two after effects a bad decision may have, one is the effect of doubting oneself and the other is effect of blaming oneself. Therefore when making bad decision, we need to find out how to deal with after effect. We need to know that we are built to make mistakes, and it is part of us. We need to learn from our mistakes and begin to see them differently. We need to see our mistakes as enforcers, we need to see them as what helps us better ourselves, and to improve ourselves. When we see decisions as opportunities, as a result we make better decision, without having unnecessary stress of what is our choice. We focus on how and learning rather than why, and what decision we make. This is because by having confidence in how we do things, what and why we do them will come in place by itself.
